Tiago Machado
Designer
Born in 1984 at Porto. Studied Graphic Design and Advertising at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (School of Management and Industrial Studies), graduating in 2006. Started out Playout and have been working both as freelancer as in-house designer since then. In 2007 started working on Público newspaper as graphic designer, focusing mainly on the daily edition of the newspaper, suplements, and webdesign. Loved the daily stress. A year later joined the design department of Seara.com, a corporate web consultant and communication agency, developing work on the creative and technical fields, having a special focus on information architecture, graphical user interface, user experience design, and implementation of standards compliant xhtml and css. In March 2010 moved to Lisbon and started working as GUI designer at the Instituto Superior Técnico — part of the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa. Playout continues to be his "one man show", now at Lisbon. Soon elsewhere!

Some Considerations
We DO NOT work for free, merit or a great ego. Probono work is an exception, not a rule. We only do probono work for probono institutions, for people that dedicate their time and effort to help others, without expecting anything from them in return. People that really try to make this planet a better place to live in. We have a huge admiration for that kind of institutions and ideals. If you manage or represent an institution that fits this criteria, and really need our help, please drop us a line and we'll see what we can do. For all the rest: time is money! "If you think you are too small to make a difference, try to sleep in a closed room with a mosquito." — African proverb. We want our work and our intelectual rights to be respected, as we do with the work from others. Typography, photography, illustration, sound, video (…) and software should be payed, they cost a lot of money and consume a lot of our budget. Good karma costs money.
We really like our good karma.
